Art Director Mitsuki Nakamura passes away (updated)

Color key artist Kunio Tsujita reported Tuesday that the study of production Toei notified the veteran art director Mitsuki Nakamura died on Monday, May 16. He was 67.

Nakamura was born in Tokyo in 1944. Anime television Space Ace in 1965, he was responsible for the Art Fund, Visual effects and mechanical designs for many classic anime at Tatsunoko Productions as Mach Go Go Go (Speed Racer), Oraa Guzura given, Kurenai Sanshiro, Hakushon DaimaoLas adventures of Hutch the bee, Animentari Ketsudan, Kaba Totto, Kaiketsu Tamagon, Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman, Kerokko Demetan, Casshan, Konchu Monogatari Shin Minashigo Hutch, Hurricane Polymar, Uchu no Kishi Tekkaman, time Bokan, Paul no miracle Daisakusen, Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman II, Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman FGuerrero gold - the gold Lightan and Kaitou Kiramekiman.

Nakamura later diversified to other studies, including Sunrise and Toei. He worked in the first series of Mobile Suit Gundam trilogy, Densetsu Kyojin Ideon and Nausicaä of the Valley of the wind. Finally, he led his own Studio, MECAMAN's Design Bureau.

Update: Mushi Productions also reported on the passage of Nakamura. Mushi said that Nakamura did not work in many of their titles, such as Raiyantsuuri Uta, Pipi Benai Hotaru and recently, in 2008, Pattenrai! ~ Minami no Shima no Mizu Monogatari ~.
