Manga of motorcycling Kirin gets film

A film adaptation of live-action of motorcycle Shohei Harumoto Kirin for the manga has been given the go-ahead to launch this fall. Claude Maki (Psychometrer Eiji, Yakuza: like a dragon) will star as the protagonist, a street racer. Director Gitan Otsuru (Wangan Midnight video) talks about the pressure in the filming of what has been called "the children's Bible", riding a work that has challenged any form of adaptation for almost two decades. The film will cover the first arc of the manga, "Point of No return".

Harumoto released the manga in engine of Mr Bike BG magazine in 1987, but in the later chapters and the Kirin: derivative of the happy Ridder Speedway has been executed since then in the magazine shonen Gahousha young King. The compiled 39th volume of the book in the original series sent in Japan the month of September, and the first volume of the happy Ridder Speedway is on sale this month. NTT Solmare offered the original manga in English in the Nokia Ovi store for mobile phones last year, although the manga is no longer available. More information on the film will be announced in the young King.
