15Th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize winners announced

The Asahi Shimbun newspaper announced the winners of the 15th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize on Monday. The awards to commemorate the contributions of the pioneer of manga Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy/Mighty Atom, Kimba the Emperor of León/white jungle, Phoenix, Black Jack), recognizing the sleeve to better follow his tradition.

The periodic awards a Grand Prize for Manga of 2 million yen (about $24,000 of United States) along with a statuette of character of Tezuka Mighty Atom. In addition, 1 million yen (US $ 12,000) going to each of the winners the artist new, short work of prize and the special award each year. The awards ceremony will take place on May 27.

Hyouge monkey, Mushi-Uta, Romae of hot springs and co-founder of Comiket Yoshihiro Yonezawa won last year's Awards.
