Variety: James Collett-Serra direct film Akira alive (updated)

The Web site for the entertainment magazine variety industry reports Thursday that Warner Bros. has hired director James Collett-Serra (unknown, orphan, House of wax) to run the version of manga by Katsuhiro Otomo and film Akira.

Variety also noted that according to "inside", the film is "who is reenvisioned as a $ 90 million" project of blockbuster.

In may, former director Albert Hughes left the project due to "creative differences" in the film.

CrunchyRoll posts Usagi placing Anime Banner (updated)

First Video of C³ (cube C) TV Anime (updated)

Level 5 to help create Gundam age Anime this fall (updated)

Shogakukan Corocoro Comic Magazine July announced Wednesday that the developer of video games level 5 (Inazuma eleven, Danboru Senki) is working on all aspects of the new Gundam major anime release this fall. In particular, the level 5 President Akihiro Hino is in charge of the story. There will also be a Gundam age manga running in the magazine.

The new series will have three generations of "father, son and descendant" as the main characters. The main characters pilot Gundam unit to fight against an attacking enemy unknown (EU) and save the Earth in a "a hundred year war", an obvious homage to the war in a year of the first series.

The first main character is Furitto Asuno, who developed the mobile suit of Gundam age-1 (mobile humanoid weapon) equipped with the system of age (an auto-adaptive equipment). The second main character is Asemu Asuno, son of Furitto. The third main character is Kio Asuno, descendant of Furitto that inherits the Gundam. Tekken: Revenge of the blood to run in cinemas in United States 3D (updated)

Anime North American Distributor Bandai Entertainment announced on Tuesday that the Tekken: film CG of revenge of blood will run in cinemas in United States more than 375 in 3D on July 26 at 7: 30 pm local time. Sentai Filmworks adds Amagami SS, MM! TV Anime (updated)

The licensee of the North American anime Sentai Filmworks announced in its Anime Central panel Saturday that acquired the Amagami SS and MM! series of anime TV to launch this month of September.

Anime adaptation of blood Lad vampire comedy Manga listed (updated)

Art Director Mitsuki Nakamura passes away (updated)

FanimeCon of California to Host artist Gainax Suezen (updated)

Chicago Anime Central to Yoshiki Host X Japan (updated)

New Lupin III project to air this fall (updated)

A television advertisement announced Friday that a new project of Lupin III television has been given the go-ahead to air this fall on the NTV network.
