Man pleads guilty to coercing girl that he met in Anime

A man of 34 years of Silver Spring, Maryland pleaded guilty Wednesday to coerce and attract a minor to participate in criminal sexual activity, after meeting with the 13-year-old girl in "a Conference for games and anime" last year.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor of United States for the District of Maryland, Michael Allen Alper was already a convicted sex offender when he met the girl at the Conference in a hotel of Oxon Hill, Maryland, in February 2010. Alpher was 33 years old, and he had only come from parole a month earlier. Allegedly befriended the girl on Facebook and through mobile phone conversations under the name "Michael allen" and engaged in explicit sexual conduct twice in the next month.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the girl later discovered the true identity of Alper when a friend is your registration of sex offenders under his full name. Alper allegedly proceeded to create another fictional identity online and contacted the girl again, "lying on the charges that led to the condemnation of the sexual offender".

Under the agreement, Alper agreed to register as a sex offender where he lives, works and studies. If the Court accepts the agreement between the parties, Alper shall be sentenced to between 10 and 14 years in prison. The Court has scheduled its ruling on October 28.

Alper had been convicted of rape with another girl he met online in Virginia in 2003. He was sentenced to three years in prison (all except six months suspended) and three years probation.

Katsucon was held in a hotel in Oxon Hill in February 2010.

at Katsucon have recently has made known the case of an Assistant to Katsucon pleaded guilty to coerce a minor in criminal sexual activity several weeks after the first meeting of the lowest in our Convention.
Firstly, we want to express our condolences and sympathies to the family of the minor had to undergo an ordeal that difficult and the minor in question.

The staff and volunteers at Katsucon work extremely hard to make our event one that is safe for young workers. To this end, reaching parents and guardians to be aware of our event and what we have to offer.

In all cases, we suggest that Katsucon is a Convention that encourages parents and guardians to experiment with their children, and when that is not possible, always need to complete a parental consent form for the parents and guardians are aware that your child is to attend our Convention.

Katsucon also employs a staff of full security that works in conjunction with the security at our Convention Center staff to protect all our assistants while they are in the areas of the Convention. We do everything possible to separate the Convention of categories of age appropriate programming and implementing controls of ID to the events of the Convention which are geared towards attendees adults.

Even will all these measures, often predatory nature people are hard to identify unless it is too late.

In this event, Katsucon will make it possible to check our list of assistants pre-registration against sex offender records published by the Federal Government and local and ban the assistance of those identified as a threat to our attendees in hopes to avoid an incident like this once it occurs again.
