Live Kimi ni Todoke to undergo tests in Dallas

From Me to You (Kimi ni Todoke), the film based on the manga of romantic comedy of the secondary school of Karuho Shiina, will be screened at the tenth annual Festival Asian Dallas on Sunday, July 17 at 1200 hours. Tickets are $9.00 or $8.10 with an extra share of reserves; the place is Theatre Landmark Magnolia at 3699 McKinney Avenue (map).

In this film directed by Naoto Kumazawa, schoolgirl Sawako Kuronuma (Mikako Tabe) becomes an outcast, and his long hair leads fellow Nick him after the demonic Sadako from the film of horror Ringu. However, Sawako then gains new friends and begins to come out of his shell.

Sleeve of Shiina began in 2005 in Bessatsu Margaret, and has 16 million printed copies. Production I.G was adapted as an anime television series in 2009, and the second season of anime premiered this January in Japan last month. The manga was also nominated for the first manga Taisho Awards in 2008 and won the award for best Shojo Manga in the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga awards in the same year.
