Kadokawa, Dwango invest in each other to expand the tie

The mainstream Japanese company Kadokawa Group Holdings and the company's online services Dwango announced Thursday that they are investing in each other to expand the Alliance formed last October.

The two companies had already agreed to distribute eBooks of Kadokawa, movies, anime and other forms of content for media on Dwango services. Kadokawa Group Holdings is the parent company of the publishing house Kadokawa Shoten, ASCII Media Works, Fujimi Shobo and Enterbrain; Kadokawa Pictures is also the parent company of the company. DWANGO is the corporate home of Niwango, the company that runs the Nico Nico Douga video-sharing site.

As part of its expanded partnership, Dwango acquired 730,000 actions or 2.68% of shares of the Kadokawa group by 1,716,960,000 yen (about US $ 21,114,000). In return, Kadokawa Group Holdings acquired 16,800 actions or 8.48% of Dwango by 3,017,280,000 yen (US $ 37,104,000).

Kadokawa agreed to allow part of the content of its new e-book "Book Walker" service to be readable in the "Nico Nico Viewer" downloads of eBooks.

New revealed Kadokawa Manga Mag, new Z Gundam Manga

The June issue of the magazine monthly Gundam Ace Kadokawa Shoten is announcing Tuesday that Gundam Ace and another Kadokawa, monthly Newtype, magazine are working this summer in a new manga magazine. Magazine not will feature manga tie-in for franchises in other media and photographs of announcement of forthcoming features sacred seven anime television series from Sunrise and next bones Towa no anime Quon series. More details in the next edition of the monthly Gundam Ace.

The June issue of monthly Gundam Ace also announces that the creator Hiroyuki Kitazume is to draw a new adaptation of manga by Yoshiyuki Tomino and anime series the robots of dawn Mobile Suit Gundam z in the next edition in May. Kitazume had worked as a designer of animation in the series of Z Gundam television, and then designed the characters of the Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and Mobile Suit Gundam: sequels to counterattack from Char. Kenichi Matsuzaki, the screenwriter who was responsible for the first Gundam series sequences of commands, configuration, and research of science fiction, is acting as a new supervisor of the manga.

Matsuzaki is credited with the version of Gundam of space colonies (based on original concepts of the physicist Gerard K.) O'Neill), Minovsky particles and weapons of the Solar System. Kitazume had previously drawn the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char Affair removed ~ manga portrait of young Comet in Gundam Ace inaugural issue of the magazine in 2001 to 2009. The character of the first series, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, designer has also been drawing his Mobile Suit Gundam: the origin re-imagining of the first story of Gundam from the inaugural edition of Gundam Ace. The magazine becomes celebrates its 10th anniversary in June.
